Rebecca (“Beki”) Conrad serves as Special Commercial Counsel for Chicago Title’s National Commercial Services (NCS) operation located in Dallas, Texas. She has been involved in the underwriting of commercial transactions in the title insurance industry since 1983. She spent 10 years in private practice dedicated to title insurance defense and litigation of title insurance claims.

Beki’s expertise is in national underwriting for commercial and multi-site transactions. Since 2001, as in-house counsel, Beki provides guidance and answers for both in-house commercial closers and national commercial customers to resolve issues, objections to title, and to provide assistance in obtaining the endorsements and coverage needed to close their transactions. Many requested coverages require underwriting and coordination with her legal counterparts in states across the country to navigate issues such as construction, mechanic’s liens and requests for non-imputation coverage.

If there is a responsible yet “out of the box” way to resolve a problem, I want to help find it.

Beki enjoys getting to know her commercial clients and their counsel and will travel to meet them if possible to put a name with a face. This enables her to work with the client and our commercial closers to streamline the closing process by anticipating her clients’ underwriting needs and resolving as many coverage requests upfront and in as timely a manner as possible.

Beki has spoken at various Texas Land Title Association presentations, and lectured for Practicing Law Institute (PLI), where she conducted a series of seminars in Dallas, Austin and Houston concerning the Basics of Title Commitments/ Title Insurance and Land Surveying.

Beki earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Texas Tech University and a Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech University School of Law. In her community, Beki has served two terms on the Board of Directors of the Dallas Alzheimer’s Association.
